  1. Scope of Agreement

These Terms and Conditions govern all painting and decorating services provided by ColorLux Ltd to residential and commercial clients across Chelmsford and UK.

  1. Services

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Door, metal, roof, and cabinet painting
  • Lime wash
  • Spraying
  • Concrete finish
  • Tape & jointing
  • Manual paint removal

  1. Estimates and Deposits

All estimates are free and provided in writing. Upon client acceptance of a quote, a 10% deposit is required before the work is scheduled. This deposit secures the booking and covers initial material procurement and planning.

  1. Cancellations and Rescheduling
  • Cancellations must be made at least 7 working days in advance to receive a full deposit refund.
  • If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the scheduled start, the deposit may be retained to cover costs.
  • Rescheduling is allowed once at no charge if done with a minimum of 7 days’ notice.
  1. Work Schedule and Completion

The estimated completion date will be agreed upon with the client before the job begins, and it will depend on:

  • Job complexity and size
  • Type and number of surfaces
  • Material selection and supplier availability
  • Weather and season
  • Site access and client availability
    Delays caused by conditions outside our control (weather, client delay, material delays) may impact completion date.
  1. Payments and Late Fees
  • Payments are made in full or instillments according to the terms established with each individual client.
  • Accepted payment methods: Bank Transfer and Cash.
  • In the absence of a different agreed rate, late payments will incur interest at a statutory rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted by UK law.
  1. Customer Responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Provide access to the property during agreed hours
  • Ensure the workspace is cleared of furniture/obstacles or inform us if protection is needed
  • Provide access to power, water, and lighting as necessary
  • Notify of any known issues (e.g., mould, water leaks, lead paint, poor surfaces)

Failure to comply may result in additional charges or delays.

  1. Materials and Warranty
  • All materials used are of high quality and suitable for the intended purpose.
  • ColorLux Ltd provides a warranty in accordance with UK law, valid only if the client:
    • Follows our care and maintenance recommendations
    • Does not tamper with the finished surfaces
    • Uses the space under normal wear and tear
  • Warranty claims must be reported within 3 days of the client identifying the issue.
  1. Liability

ColorLux Ltd shall not be held liable for:

  • Indirect losses or consequential damages
  • Delays caused by weather, client action/inaction, third-party contractors, or material supply issues
  • Pre-existing conditions not disclosed

Our maximum liability shall not exceed the total value of the work carried out.

  1. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, extreme weather, material shortages, or public emergencies.

  1. Privacy Policy

We process your data in line with UK GDPR and only use your information for the purposes of fulfilling our contract with you.

  1. Complaints

Complaints can be sent via phone or email. We strive to respond as quickly as possible, but no later than the maximum time permitted by UK law.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted according to the laws of England and Wales.

  1. Alternative Dispute Resolution

In the event of unresolved disputes, you may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) body.

  1. VAT

ColorLux Ltd is VAT registered. All quoted prices are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.

By booking services with ColorLux Ltd, you agree to these terms.
